    A tree top view!

Our eldest son Owen, took this week’s Image of the Week, while climbing a tree in Powis Park. An unusual view of the church and field! Image of the Week #42

We had a fantastic response to our Open Day yesterday. A huge thank you to all 85 of you that came! Some traveling quite a distance to come to Welshpool to view Christ Church. The joy of having an Open Day is that you never know who is going to walk in! It’s wonderful to meet such a range of…

We were prompted to do this a little ahead of schedule, as we had a visit yesterday from Penybontfawr WI. As part of their summer trip, they came…

Next to this flower bed lies the Herbert family tombs, including three of the Earls. At this time of year it looks beautiful, full of pinks and whites. The roses always stand out and…

Hold on tight and try not to look down!

We erected a scaffold tower to complete some exterior works, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to get some high level shots of the church. However, at the top of the ladder I really didn’t fancy the idea of climbing any further on my own, so this is as high as I got! Not high enough for…

    Bistort and bees

Bistort is now flowering in the graveyard. There’s a clump of it growing in the south side of the churchyard. I really like its pink spires amongst the gravestones. The bees like it too…  Image of the Week #39

    Now Showing… no more

We were all really saddened to read on My Welshpool that the Pola Cinema is to close its doors later today. This family run, independent cinema has been such a huge credit to Welshpool. Since living here, we have enjoyed the privilege of being able to walk down to the Pola to watch the latest blockbuster. How amazing that you…
