the oak tree over a year

Over the past year, I have been regularly snapping a quick photograph of an old oak tree which lies just outside the churchyard boundary. I glance at this tree everyday as I pass and I wanted to record the subtle seasonal changes that it undergoes. It’s fascinating, looking back at the photographs (all taken on my phone) to see how this familiar landmark changes during the year in different lights and weather conditions.
This has inspired me to do more ‘tree following’ and I’m linking in with Lucy over at ‘Loose and Leafy’ and following an apple tree which grows in the churchyard. Lucy’s idea is to record your tree once a month and observe how it changes during the seasons, and what other wildlife live on or underneath it. Everyone’s Tree Following posts will be linked together, so we can all see how our trees are getting on. I’ll be introducing the apple tree next week.
