Nature Table – January

I’ve been inspired to do a monthly ‘nature table’ of interesting finds in the churchyard, and this is January’s offering.
:: the flower buds on the Laurel are forming : moss and lichens on the old apple tree : acorns are sprouting, and getting nibbled too : ivy flowers slowly turning into berries : a wood pigeon feather : a broken snail shell, evidence of a song thrush using the gravestones as an anvil : buds on the ash tree : snowdrops : faded roses and hips : laylandii seed cones : a few berries remain on the holly tree ::
