The end of the Cedar
There was a lot of activity in the churchyard last week, as a large Cedar tree was cut down. Roses
Along side the south aisle of the church runs a flower bed, planted up I believe, by the Head Gardener of Powis Castle many years ago. On this day… Lady Violet, Countess of Powis
On this day in 1929, Lady Violet of Powis Castle tragically died in a car accident at the age of 63. I believe the accident occured near the Rhallt on the outskirts of Welshpool. This was a devastating loss to her husband, George Herbert, 4th Earl of Powis. He installed a memorial window for her here in the south east corner…

Exploring Powis Castle
