Sunshine
What a glorious week it’s been, with long hot days. Cold and rain feels a life time away! The church temperature has reached a balmy 21C… just perfect, cool not chilled. It’s been a long time since it’s felt like this and thank goodness we aren’t cold anymore! We’ve been having the church doors open, to let the warm air…

Under the Yew tree
Under the Yew tree in the churchyard is this ‘hidden’ gravestone. Beautiful in the shaded undergrowth. Fred was with me and asked to have the camera to take this photo… …as he liked the way the Yew tree framed the view of the church. A budding young photographer! Images of the Week #43

A tree top view!
Our eldest son Owen, took this week’s Image of the Week, while climbing a tree in Powis Park. An unusual view of the church and field! Image of the Week #42

Bistort and bees
Bistort is now flowering in the graveyard. There’s a clump of it growing in the south side of the churchyard. I really like its pink spires amongst the gravestones. The bees like it too… Image of the Week #39

Laburnum
There are two Laburnum trees in the churchyard and you would hardly notice them nestled in amongst the other trees but at this time of year they look splendid draped in thousands of yellow flowers and bees buzzing all around them. Image of the Week #38

The Coronation window
The Coronation window. 60 years ago today was the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. There’s an interesting article by the BBC here about the ‘dazzling spectacle, solemn pledges and soaring music’ on the day. Image of the Week #37

Image of the Week – Oak tree
We walk past this mighty oak tree everyday, and it’s such a beauty. It is just coming into leaf. Image of the Week #36

More churchyard wildflowers
Lady’s Smock amongst the gravestones in the churchyard. A beautiful simple little flower. Image of the Week #35
